Duties, Responsibilities and Accountability:


The Technical Sales Specialist will support the US and Canada Sales team in its initiative to increase sales of Ross Video technology in dynamic and innovative applications. This key role in the Ross Sales organization requires a unique blend of engineering / solutions solving skills along with the "soft skills" required in a sales process. This is a diverse role that requires close collaboration with the company's Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Technical Support teams to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address our customers' needs. This unique position will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:


Job Responsibilities:


  • Participates and contributes to sales opportunities driven by the Regional Sales Managers, prioritizing efforts based on maximizing total impact on the team's productivity.
  • Scopes technical solutions to address customer requirements, assess customers' met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Ross Video.
  • Coordinates closely with Ross' internal Sales team and business partners to align solutions designed to meet our customers' business requirements.
  • Proactively engage in opportunity reviews ensuring they are properly configured aligned in the sales process.
  • Educate and provide professional development to team and business partners in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
  • Generates localized sales tools on various mediums for internal and external distribution (PowerPoint's, Application Notes, Competitive Guides, etc.).
  • Participates in educating business partner from sales tools in person, remotely, or made available for download.
  • Engages in customer facing product presentations, demo, training, and workflow guidance to end-users and business partners at customer premise or tradeshows.
  • Ensures the Sales and Marketing of product line follows the Ross Video Code of Ethics.
  • Works on systems oriented and highly technical projects.
  • Creates drawings that capture the spirit of specific opportunities, while also creating general variations for use by other groups at Ross.
  • Helps to prepare world-class customer facing proposal supplements.
  • Manage proposal for large RFP's.
  • Transfers post sale information to the Implementation Projects team.
  • Acts as a "Technical Evangelist" to help build trust and inspiration with our partners and customers.
  • Participates in developing and implementing Channel Partner product awareness collateral / presentations.
  • Provides client feedback to Marketing Product Manager(s) on product & application requirements.
  • Perform product demo and configurations for business partners and end users on Ross specific  Products and workflows.
  • Coordinate with DTE and Demo Artist upcoming full system demos as required by an opportunity.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined sales, sales engineering, presales experience, systems application, or product specialist experience.
  • Record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a customer facing environment.
  • Understanding of the Broadcast / Media Technology Market (Live Production experience an asset).
  • Poses strong knowledge of industry standard protocols, connectors, and terminations.
  • Advanced skill set in using design drafting program for workflow and connectivity drawings. (MS Visio knowledge preferred).
  • Assist in laying out and designing rail configurations for robotics projects.
  • Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills.
  • Must be proficient in both Desktop and Server Networking practices. 
  •  Able to work co-operatively with and across all company departments.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong and creative problem solving traits.
  • Existing knowledge and use of Ross Video products (preferred).
  • Experience working with CRM's.
